RENAULT

RETHINKING ELECTRIC

How do you win over petrolheads to electric?

You start by making it fun.

THE CHALLENGE

Renault wanted to change the narrative around the brand on social media and challenge everything people thought they knew about electric cars. The brand needed a consistent, engaging social presence that could shift perceptions among audiences who didn't yet see themselves as EV drivers, all within a tight budget. Day to day, that meant building a community people genuinely wanted to follow, while finding creative ways to put Renault's electric range in front of new audiences.

THE APPROACH

We tapped into the nostalgia of Scalextric, building a track with mini Renault E-Tech Meganes and creating content that felt playful, shareable and unmistakably on-brand. To extend reach, we collaborated with influencers with a combined following of 70,000.

We also took Renault to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, putting the brand in front of over 200,000 visitors. Alongside media, customers and Renault UK employees, we brought influencer Gadgetsboy to create social content that showcased the brand's electric vehicles and their capabilities to an audience of hardcore petrolheads, both in person and across platforms.

Throughout, every interaction was designed to feel right for the audience and the platform, building trust, encouraging participation and steadily shifting how people think about Renault and electric driving.

THE IMPACT

The combination of consistent community management and creative content moments delivered strong results. The Scalextric content alone drove high engagement rates and significant reach across Renault's social channels in just one quarter, proving that smart, culturally tuned content can shift brand perception without relying on big budgets. By showing up consistently and creatively, we helped Renault build a social community that actively engages with the brand and sees electric vehicles in a completely new light.
